Committment

By submitting an application to be considered for the BTH program, I acknowledge that:

1 – I am ready to make a broad and fundamental change in my life, including changing my lifestyle choices, my attitude toward authority, my attitude toward others, my adherence to laws and rules, my work ethic, my financial decisions, my food and nutrition choices, and my spiritual life.

2 – If I currently partake of tobacco in any form (cigarettes, vaping, etc.) I will quit upon entry to the BTH program and abstain from it for the duration of my stay at BTH. Furthermore, I acknowledge that tobacco would adversely affect my health and be an expensive and unnecessary crutch that would decrease my chances of success upon leaving BTH.

3 – I have read the Ministry Overview as well as the Guidelines and Principles. And, if accepted into the BTH program, I will proactively comply with all requirements in those documents and cooperate with BTH leadership. I will also interact in a positive and respectful manner with other residents in the program – actively participating in classes and community projects/events, doing my assigned share of duties, and generally being a help rather than a hindrance to fellow residents and BTH leadership.

4 – I want to complete the BTH program and leave there empowered to live a more positive and healthy life than in the past.

5 – At Buried Treasures Home, we strive to help each resident achieve wellness through Jesus Christ. We understand that addressing serious life-controlling issues that may lead to addiction and incarceration is crucial for long-term success.

6 – Although substance is often the most visible life-controlling issue, it has been discovered that using drugs to alleviate the pain caused by abuse, whether it be sexual, physical, or mental, can often lead to addiction and other associated behaviors.

7 – Buried Treasures Home aims to help its residents by teaching them a new way of living. This is achieved by addressing various issues that affect living a healthy life, such as family dynamics, personal relationships, self-image, peer pressure, temptation, and work attitudes.

8 – Buried Treasures Home believes that successful living skills can only be learned and developed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The organization aims to empower its residents by helping them develop this relationship, which will provide them with the motivation to develop a new way of life.

9 – Establishing new lifestyle habits and patterns of thinking that enable one to maintain a drug and abuse-free life can take at least ten (10) months to one (1) year.

I am committed to Buried Treasures Home’s three (3) phase program and will continue until succeed.
