About Us

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to provide a safe and realistic environment where a woman’s Christian faith can grow, and she can learn to live free and productively.

Buried Treasures Home is a Christ-Centered residential recovery ministry focusing on:

-Transition from prison/addiction

-Transformation of mind, body, and spirit

-Trusting God, self, and others.

Transition

(1 Month)
Transition provides the new resident with a period of adjustment and integration into BTH’s daily routine. A specific short-term goal-oriented plan is formed for each resident. The logistics of parole/probation, medical needs, and family matters are addressed. Clothing and hygiene needs are met. BTH work assignments/chores are communicated. Spiritual training (including church attendance) and counseling begin. Mandatory attendance at Celebrate Recovery classes begins. Bi-weekly evaluation is conducted by BTH leaders. Before the resident can begin the Transformation Phase, she must have a good attitude, adherence to rules, negative substance/drug tests, and completion of course assignments, if applicable. Prior to the end of the Transition Phase, the BTH leaders will evaluate the resident to determine if she is ready to begin the Transformation Phase of five (5) months.

Transformation

(5 Months)
Transformation provides the resident with the opportunity to grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically, focusing on the development of a Christian worldview. Monthly evaluations (or as needed) are conducted by BTH leaders and mid-term goals are set initially (e.g., obtaining identity documents such as driver’s license and social security card.) Healthy reconnection with family is encouraged through phone calls, letters and BTH visits, all with appropriate supervision. Mandatory Celebrate Recovery classes continue. Before the resident
can begin the Trusting Phase, she must have a good attitude, adherence to rules, negative substance/drug tests, and completion of course assignments, if applicable. Prior to the end of the Transformation Phase, the BTH leaders will evaluate the resident to determine if she is ready to begin the Trusting Phase of four (4) to six (6) months.

Trusting

(4 Months — 6 months)
Trusting is focused on the resident’s trust of God, self, and others. After successfully reaching the Trusting Phase, this trust can be reflected in the resident continuing her education; working off-campus; healthy reuniting with family; setting long-term goals; and meeting financial obligations. Monthly evaluations (or as needed) will continue. Graduation occurs at the end of the successful completion of the Trusting Phase which is a minimum of ten (10) months at BTH, completion of Celebrate Recovery, having a good attitude, adherence to rules, negative substance/drug tests, and has prepared herself for a successful life. The four (4) months in the trusting phase can be extended if the resident requests more time and the BTH leaders and resident come to a mutual decision as to the need for more time at BTH to prepare herself for a successful life. Also, if the BTH leaders determine a resident is not ready for graduation at the end of ten (10) months, the resident will be asked to extend her time at BTH. In both scenarios, a monthly evaluation will be conducted by the BTH staff to determine if the resident is ready for graduation up to a maximum of twelve (12) months at BTH.
